Okay, so here's what happened since I just wanted to get the baby's picture out there and forgot to say HOW we got the baby. As most of you know I had gestational diabetes, which means I needed to take insulin shots twice a day to help the baby with her sugar intake.
This type of diabetes means the babies are big and can't be carried all the way to 40weeks so I was going to be induced at 38 weeks. Well, they did stress tests on her and found that her little heart can't keep up with her big body during labor. So instead we did a c-section and it's a good thing we did!
I went in to the hospital around 10am and they operated on me at 12:30pm. When they took her out she had pooped in the amniotic fluid!!! And that's bad...especially if the baby breathes it in, which she did. Thankfully she didn't breathe in too much but she was still sick from it.
She had some oxygen problems, low blood sugar, and heart murmurs that scared us. Now, two days later, her blood sugar is back to normal, there is no heart murmur and her oxygen gets better and better. She's breastfeeding and taking formula to get her healthy enough to leave the hospital.
I have a wound that burns but it gets better every day...especially when accompanied by percocet!
So, like we promised, here are some more pictures!!!
