Just browsing

I was just browsing on Google images, trying to see if I could find a picture of my husband from P.C.C. since he's been on some of their banners and things. I wanted to post them on here and then I run into this!
For those of you who don't know, this is a picture of Lokahi; 4th son of the Vuikadavu's and Rabici's youngest brother.
He is currently serving in the Kenewick (not sure i spelled that right) mission. He'll be home in April of 2009 and he is missed by all our family. He's doing well and updates us frequently on his experiences out in the field.
He's so handsome in this picture that I thought I'd post it. He'd kill me if he knew...lucky for me they can't read blogs on a mission. Anyway, if you're cute and a good LDS girl, you may email me about him. JUST KIDDING! :)

Mo Cha

I had to go to an Orientation today for Kamehameha schools since I recieved scholarship money to finish my graduate program at U.H. After the orientation I was tired and wanted to go home but my mom convinced me to go to Manuheali'i (a store with gorgeous Hawaiian patterned clothes). We went shopping and then stopped off at Baskin Robins for some ice cream.

I was full from the luncheon I had at Kamehameha but waited for my mom to get her ice cream. We get into the car and about two minutes later she's upset because she doesn't like her ice cream. She has me taste it and even I have to admit that it doesn't taste too good. It left some sort of funny after taste in my mouth.

We get home and I ask her, "What is this flavor so I don't ever get it?" She says, "Almond Mo Cha." I go, "You mean Almond Mocha?" She says, "No, I mean Mo Cha; that's how it was spelled!" So I inform her that Mo Cha is really Mocha and that's just another form of Coffee so no wonder we thought it tasted funny. She looked at the ice cream in her hand, then at me, and at the same time we started laughing hysterically.

My mom...so inncocent when it comes to the world. I teased her for a good hour as I pronounced other words differently; pretending to be her in Baskin Robins trying to order regular ice cream. Like, "May I please try your Van Ila" (vanilla), "Or maybe some Chalk late" (Chocolate).

I didn't realize...

I always knew I loved everything about Disneyland but I didn't realize how much of a freak I was until this past week. The staff at my school returned to work and five of them came back with gifts for me. Now, I was shocked since I don't get anyone anything when I go on vacation unless I see something I think you'll like. So when these co-workers brought things back I thought, "wow, I have some good friends." But then I realized, "no, I'm just a disney freak". This is what I got:

1) a giant disney princess pencil (and I mean giant)
2) a mickey t-shirt
3) a flipchart disney calendar
4) a minnie mouse eraser
5) 2 donald duck lollipops

I just didn't realize!

Birthday's

Rabici was born on July 16 and my mom was born on July 17. We decided to have two birthday parties for them on Thursday. We went to Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park in the morning and then took them out to Dinner at Duke's restaurant that evening. Our long-time family friends, the Richter's, were there to celebrate with us. Below is a slideshow of that special day. Happy Birthday Mom and Rabici!

Adults suck!

I am so sad to be back at work because it means I have to be an adult. Usually I like being an adult; I have my own house, my own car, come and go as I please, etc., etc. But then there are moments when you are given an outsiders perspective and you realize...Adults Suck!

For example, there was a little girl sitting on the sidewalk outside of Safeway today. I went there to grab me some salad (I'm trying to eat better...trying to). Anyway, she's sitting on the sidewalk and takes this deep breath and sighs. I ask her what's wrong. She looks up at me, rolls her eyes and sighs again.

I can't resist, so I ask her again. She tells me this story (And I'm trying to write it like she said it): My stupid brother hided my shoes, my mommy yelled at me for losing my shoes but it's stupid Jared's fault for hideding my shoes! And mommy said since i lost my shoes i have to wear Tanner's shoes but i told her Jared hided my shoes but she said to stop lying. I'm not soposed to lie. And now i wear Dora shoes when i want hannah montana shoes. Jared says hannah montana is stupid but he's stupid and i told him. (SIGH) But mommy heard me say stupid and I'm not soposed to say stupid so now i have to wait outside with stupid dora shoes on. Sorry, I'm not soposed to say stupid.

She finishes with another sigh and I can't help but feel bad for the kid. I ask her what would make her feel better and she tells me that all she wants to do is get back at her brother Jared. So, being an adult, I know it's better to tell her that she's got to be an example and take this opportunity to teach her brother right from wrong. So i say to her, "Just trip him with your Dora shoes when your mom's not looking." What do i care about doing the right thing? Adults suck.

Funny Story

I put a picture of my mom on here so you can see what she looks like; just in case you don't remember or if you've never met her. And also because this funny story is about her.

Okay, so yesterday I went to Dinner with my mom at Kenny's restaurant in Kalihi. We had the stupidest waitress...ever. She asks us what we'd like to order, my mom asks her a question about something on the menu and the waitress WALKS AWAY! While my mother is talking! If any of you know my mom...that's not a good thing. I'm trying not to snort water out of my nose as my mom's shocked face turns from me to the waitress and back again.

So the waitress comes back with no explanation and takes our order. We give her our order for food and then we don't see her again until the food's ready. She give us our food and she's gone. No refill of our drinks, no checking on us, nothing. Well, my mom and I continue to talk and eat and I tell her about this blog and everything else going on in my life.

It's now dessert time but our waitress is no where to be found. When we finally wave her down she gives us our check, thanks us and walks away. My mom throws her hands in the air and gives up. I finally call the waitress back over, order our dessert, and we eat it. I had to push my mom out of Kenny's so she wouldn't be able to complain.

My mom rocks! She always makes me laugh and keeps me on my toes. Believe me, the only time you want to see her complain is if you aren't the one she's complaining about and there's 4 feet of bullet proof glass separating you and the person she is complaining about.

Our recent trip

I got tagged, so here you go...

Four things I was doing 10 years ago...

1. Taking the bus to Kahuku High School

2. Head over heels for a football player (not saying who)

3. Touring Massachusetts with my daddy

4. Hanging out at the bus stop with friends

Four things I was doing 5 years ago...

1. Dating Rabici (love you babe!)

2. Maid of Honor at Elizabeth's wedding (love ya Lizzabee!)

3. Getting ready for my Senior year of College

4. Hanging out at 7-11 with friends

Four things I was doing yesterday....

1. Working (blah!)

2. Cleaning house (blah! blah!)

3. Watching "WALL-E" and "GET SMART" with my husband

4. Reading

Four shows that I like...

1. Gilmore Girls (even though it's ended, i still watch the DVD's)

2. Friends (same as above)

3. John and Kate + 8

4. Law and Order: SVU

My four biggest joys...

1. Rabici

2. My family (mom, dad, etc.)

3. My friends who love me no matter how weird i am!

4. DISNEYLAND!!!!!!

Four things that you might not know about me...

1. I had my tonsils removed when I was in 7th grade. For one week I couldn't talk and I couldn't eat ice cream because it burned my throat. I believe that was recorded as the quietest week in the United States of America. I'm so proud! (tear)

2. I have been to the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Fiji. No, i did not have to get shots, but i did need a passport. My dad has worked at Philippine Airlines for 30 + years and we got to fly for free. The next foreign lands I'd like to visit would be Thailand, Italy and Greece.

3. I am only two races: Hawaiian and German. My mother is 100% Hawaiian and my dad is 100% German. That's where I get my super model good looks from! Living in Hawaii, you run across people who have 3 or more races combined. I'm one of the rare ones whose only got 2. Here I'm known as a "Hapa" or "half" Hawaiian. But that's okay, that means I'm only half lazy! (Just kidding pure Hawaiians!)

4. I secretly want to be a writer. I made up tons of stories when I was a kid about make believe worlds and people. I love the funny and the unknown. I would love to write them down and put it in books one day. But until I have the time and skills to become a writer, all my stories must remain locked in my head... and that's an interesting place to be.

First Day Blogging

So hello everyone! This is my first blog spot...ever. Looking at all of my friends blogs has inspired me to have fun and share our lives with everyone. A lot of funny and crazy things happen to us on a monthly, weekly, and sometimes daily basis so I hope to share it with everyone so they get a good laugh.

I first want to thank Liz, Nia, Lia, and Kaytee for getting me hooked on blogspot in the first place. Reading their spots inspired this spot! So I'm going to try and download as many pictures as I can and update as frequently as I can to keep you all in the loop!
