So, on July 27th, at around 5:50 pm, I became an official Aunty. My brother has a son now and it throws into sharp reality how soon I'll be giving birth. AHHH!!!
Anyway, this little guy is 7 pounds, and 20 inches long. He's got spiky black hair and long eyelashes. And true to being a member of this family, he's loud. He was screaming and crying when he came out and if you don't hold him just right....he'll scream some more.
He's so adorable I can't stop taking pictures of him. (Be warned: he scowls a lot, but you would too if you just came out of a birth canal a day ago)
Here he is! John Jerald Manao'io Andrade Burgwinkel
He looks like an Israelite baby here

Deja vu
So a couple years ago Rabici went in for surgery on his left knee because they found pieces of bone floating around in his leg, cutting up his tendons and muscles. It was July, 2007 and in August he went in for emergency orthoscopic surgery. He couldn't walk for almost 3 weeks and it took him a little over a month to fully recover. The reason I remember it so well is because I was also pregnant and had a miscarriage in September.
Fast forward to July 2009. Rabici's left arm's been hurting him so we went to the doctor's. He found pieces of bone floating around his elbow, cutting up his tendons and muscles. He now has to go in for emergency orthoscopic surgery for his arm and will not be able to use it for 4 weeks. I'm now 7 months pregnant and his surgery again will be in August.
I just can't believe this is happening all over again. At least this time it's his arm so I won't have to carry him around like I did with his leg. But this time his arm is worse than his leg was because they found arthritis in his arm since the bone is hurting it so badly.
I'm having a serious case of deja vu and it's not good. Why can't I have deja vu about Disneyland or going to the beach? Why do all the sucky things repeat themselves?
Grrrrr.

July synopsis
SO I've been negligent in posting and that's because I have barely enough energy to roll (and I mean roll) myself out of bed every morning and work. But we did do a lot this month.
July 4th we stayed at the Ala Moana Hotel and watched the fireworks that went on at Magic Island. Normally I hide indoors because of my asthma but we watched from the safety of our room balcony so I was fine.
July 9th I went to the Big Island and did a ton of research on my family tree. We were able to find names and help relative with temple work...all while I'm pregnant! Go me.
July 16th was Rabici's birthday and we celebrated by cruising around the island, going to doctor's appointments and then watching Harry Potter.
July 17th was Mom's birthday and I took her out for breakfast, shopping and a birthday dinner at Red Lobster. That place is awesome! Though it did creep me out to choose my own lobster to kill and eat. Oh well, that's what you get for being at the bottom of the food chain Mr. Lobster!
July 18th was our Stake Enrichment (4 hours of my life I want back) and a 1st baby luau...in Nanakuli!!! Now those of you who aren't familiar with the cities of Hawaii, the best way I can describe Nankuli would be to say it's Harlem, with a beach. No offense to those who love that side, but No thank you! It's a good thing my mom and I are dark and that we didn't bring my white dad. They left us alone.
Now it's July 21st and I'm not really doing anything significant. All the movies I want to see are already out and my life has lost all meaning and direction. :) Except for New Moon coming out 11.20.09!!! Score!
