Not so good with putting the words together

So this is nothing earth shattering but Rabici and I had a hard time communicating this morning. Normally I wouldn't blog about this since this is sometimes a regular occurrence. However, what we said to each other this morning made me laugh so hard I began to cry.

Okay, so I'm getting ready to leave for work and to drop my sister-in-law off at school. I realize that Rabici is late for work so I ask: "Do you want to drop us off and take the car or are you going to catch the bus?"

He says: "Yes."

Yes what? Yes to the first or second! Sheesh! So I shake my head at him, give him a 2 second lecture about how annoying that is, and we leave so he can drop us off.

Well he sees something on my neck and says, "What's that? Is that a scar?"

I say: "Does it hurt?"

Rabici says, "Um...Yeah?" Then we both cracked up because we realized how dumb we sounded.

Yeah I know, I was retarded. I meant to say "It hurts" but for some reason I asked him "Does it hurt?".

(sigh) Oh well. It just shows that sometimes, we're not so good with the putting the words together.

Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice...

Okay, I got my Twilight DVD last night, actually I got it at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 20th. How is that possible, you may ask. Well, that is the beauty of ordering on amazon.com

The last thing I wanted to do was go to a midnight party at borders again where the 12 year old girls are screaming frantically about how much they love Edward and how they're the future Mrs. Cullen and blah, blah blah. Plus, I didn't want to fight off the middle age women who wanted to buy a copy for themselves, their friends, their co-workers, etc.

So, I decided to order it online, wait an extra day or two until it came in because it would be worth skipping the drama. Well imagine my surprise when Friday night I'm holding the twilight DVD, very carefully, in my hands. I got it before everyone else, even people waiting in line on the east coast! Ha! Ha!

But my joy was short lived. I watched it the second I could and was instantly saddened. I hate it! I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! How is it possible for me to go from hating it, to tolerating it, to semi-liking it, to hating it again?

Two words: Deleted Scenes.

I was stupid enough to listen to that stupid Catherine Hardwicke talk about scenes she cut but wished she could've left in because they were so "Cool". And then I was even stupider to watch them! Most of them never happened in the book and would've made the movie look like a cheesy porno! Watch the special features, you'll know what I mean.

I took the DVD out, slammed it in it's cover and threw it on my desk. I'm disappointed...again, and this time it's all my fault. I thought it would be better this time, I thought I overcame my hatred for the Hardwicke idiocy in the movie. But alas, I was only fooling myself.

Shame on me.

Stoked

So I'm pretty much bored with my students and decided to sneak onto the internet and look up the movie times for some of the new one's that came out so my husband and I could go watch them this weekend.

Imagine my surprise when I find the movie trailers to some of the movies I'm dying to see this year!!!!

First: Harry Potter and The half-blood Prince. It's so dark and mysterious and scary...I can't wait. I know it's not like the book but...spoiler for you people who've been living in a cave and haven't read the book....this is when Dumbledore dies and all the drama starts to unfold.

Second, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Now I'm not a huge transformers fan. My husband is. When we went to the first movie he sat next to me and told me the name of every character before they were introduced. I just remember the Saturday morning cartoons when my brother watched them. But, after seeing the movie with Shia LeBeouf, I have to say...I am excited for the next one. It looks just as action packed, if not more and I can't tell if the good guys win in this one. Is this just the second movie in a trilogy?

Lastly, Monsters vs. Aliens. It's coming out next week and I can't wait. It looks hilarious and I've been waiting for a funny movie to come out for a while. Everything looks like its action-packed or horror-filled and I want some comedy!

I'm so stoked!

sick, sick, sick

So, I haven't posted for a while since I've been so sick. I'm talking hospital visits, wires sticking out of me, coughs, and pains all over. It sucked and I felt like doing nothing. I didn't even want to go to work but had to since I gotta take care of all the little things like a roof over my head and food in my belly.

Basically I got a UTI; for those of you who don't know what that means it stands for Urinary Tract Infection. This is the first one I ever had in my entire life and it was horrible. They gave me medication that I had to take twice a day, every day, for 2 weeks. Then I got a horrible cough with all the gross cold systems to go along with it. Needless to say, it has not been a good 2 weeks.

My doctor gave me some medication that is starting to make me feel better and I'm grateful. I can't keep taking sick leave or else I won't have any left and then I'll be forced to come to work for the rest of the year with no break! No thank you! Anyway, I thought I'd update you on my situation and why I've been negligent for so long. I'll try and make sure that doesn't happen again.

One advantage I have had for being sick......Rabici gives me foot rubs. Yeah me!
