To the movie talkers...BEWARE

I don't know how many of you have heard this story about the Phildelphia guy who shot a dad being loud in a movie theater but if you haven't here's the scoop. 29-year old James Cialella Jr, who went to a screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, pulled out a gun and shot another man in the arm because he and his family were being noisy.

Cialella was annoyed when the family wouldn’t stop talking. He told them to be quiet, but the youngest son decided to be a smart butt and became even noisier. Cialella then threw popcorn at him in an attempt to get him to stop. But since that failed he decided that the next course of action would be to pull out his gun and shoot the father in the arm.

Now, I'm not condoning violence in the least. When you're mad, you don't pull out a gun and shoot people. But......I do know where this guy is coming from. I mean, you shell out 9 or 10 dollars to see this movie, you get some snacks and sit down and all you want to do is enjoy. But then some jerk and his son start talking and ruin the whole darn thing for you! You try to get them to stop, asking them nicely or shushing them but nothing works!

Should he have walked out of the movie and complained to someone else, YES. Should he have had words with the family when they left, MAYBE. I want to say the guy had it coming and that I don't blame Cialella, but I can't. Guns are awful and I must admit that I too have talked in a movie theater. (Not as loud or obnoxious as this Philedelphia family, but I have talked).

I guess my two main reasons for posting about this is because 1) I can't believe this actually happened and 2) If you're a movie talker, you better watch out. Because one time there may be another person like Cialella who will whip out their gun and not think twice about making you shut up.

That's nuts! I have to admit that I wished I had a gun when I saw Twilight so I could blast away all of the stupid little teeny boppers who were swooning over Edward every time he was in a scene and my poor sister-in-law was sitting in front of some teeny boppers that had already seen it and said every line along with the actors and stuff. I wouldn't really shoot anyone but it makes you so dang mad! You can't escape into the world the movie is about when you have all of these stupid distractions!

I can't believe that the guy actually SHOT the dad! CRAZY! I do know where's he's coming from BUT I'm not the kind of person to actually do anything about it. UNLESS they are being super dumb. I usually just complain about it later to the people I'm with! haha. I agree with the above comment about all the teeny boppers talking to Twilight! IRRITATING! I better watch out too cuz we bring Aaron with us! haha.

well, I'll tell you one thing - I am going to start keeping TOTALLY silent when I go to the "real" theaters. However, I fell that at the $1, I can talk as much as I want :)
